Cleaning your Outdoor Mesh Fabrics; Defab specialists weigh-in.
Cleaning your Outdoor Mesh Fabrics is very important to ensuring that you are getting the best bang for your buck by extending your fabric life. By keeping your blinds clean, you will ensure they look as good as new. Not only this, but your outdoor area will thank you for it!
Keep in mind: General marking and mould are inevitable for most outdoor fabrics, but immediate attention to the affected areas will minimize the chance of any long term staining or degradation. Below are some tips to follow for maximizing the life of your outdoor mesh blinds:
1. A mild brushing with a soft bristle brush (possibly a toothbrush) in addition to hosing will assist in the removal of any debris from within the fabric weaves. You can also use a microfiber cloth to wipe away any visible dirt.
* If after washing, you’re still seeing some tough stains, mix a solution of one-part detergent to 20 parts of lukewarm water. This solution can be left on the blind for a short period of time. When the area is completely moist try removing the dirt gently with the before mentioned soft brush or microfiber cloth. *
2. Do not apply any harsh chemicals, cleaning fluids or insecticides.
3. Keep petrol, oil, solvents, kerosene and other similar fluids away from the fabric at all times.
